W.F. Wells Model B-25 Band Saw

All Model B-25 have the same capacity but as the blade size and horse power increase so does the length and strength of the frame to properly support the blade. The series 1 comes standard with a manually controlled blade force feed valve that insures a constant blade force throughout the cut. The series 2 and 3 have a hydraulic blade force valve that is controllable to a higher range that correspond to the loads of the 1 1/2" and 2" blades. The series 4 machine comes standard with positive feed that allows the head to descend at a fixed IPM rate. This is very desirable in those high production situations where a consistent type of material is to be cut by a knowledgeable operator.

Similar in design to the Model B-25, the frame is canted for more efficient cutting of wide flat material. Combined with the optional hydraulic swivel base this makes a perfect miter saw for cutting wide flange beams.

The large capacity of the Model S-40 allows this machine to be used for a variety of jobs. The standard machine works well for those heavy steel blocks. Set up with the optional High speed drive, 3000 SFPM, this machine is used to cut large non-ferrous material like graphite and PVC pipe. Like the B-25-4 the S-40-4 comes standard with positive feed that allows the frame to be lowered at a controlled IPM rate.

The W-9 is probably the best know of all models of W.F. Wells saws. It was introduced in 1949 and was the first true twin post horizontal.
